Bohemianly Bona Fide or Genuinely Avant Garde, its all Bon Accord with Musa and Alliance!
10th February 2016

At Musa every pride is taken in providing an ambience where we can host our friends, your friends and their friends. Although, it is well noted that many individual factors can influence a particular ambience, there are a few constants that we can rationally account for, one in particular being our wine. The long standing friendship between Musa and merchant, Alliance Wine is certainly an element of the Musa experience that has remained true. The Alliance ethos of ‘eclectic, ambitious and sometimes controversial’ certainly holds a place at the table in Musa. Through the guidance of our aide David Douglas, we have been introduced to and sampled some memorable drops in some memorable venues, with some memorable characters, and as these have in turn been introduced to our friends at Musa, and have certainly not disappointed. With that in mind, through our shared enthusiasm to bring to the table, exceptional wines, Alliance have introduced us to new friends to bring into the Musa family.

For in house dry aged beef, maybe 30, 40 or 50 days old, one requires something rather special, or as Alliance might say themselves ‘inspirational, extraordinary, a wine with soul and personality’. Like a Fleurie with liver, or champagne with caviar, we required a foil, a suitor, a match! Malbec perhaps? And that’s what we got. In the Uco Valley, at the foot of the Andes, close to Mendoza, with 5 estates ranging between 600-1100 metres above sea level, producing grape varieties such as Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Ancelotta, Caladoc and Tempranillo, from Argentina, we extend a warm welcome to Familia Zuccardi!

Although the Malbec is our favourite to sample with our dry aged beef, we have the Q series, Zeta and Tito on board for your pleasure, and coupled with our new Coravin system, that enables us to pour a glass of these exceptional South American offerings without removing the cork, ( really! ) we’re certain the ‘Bon Accord’ between Musa and Alliance is sure to continue. In the meantime stay tuned to the usual social media streams etc for news of our upcoming Zuccardi wine dinner and other special events, Valentines, Mothers day, 1st May Whisky Sour 2016, Brew Dog Brunch, its all going on……
